HOW I WORK

In my practice, I weave together three organic approaches — all grounded in biology and neuroscience.

The Feldenkrais® Method

Feldenkrais is a groundbreaking approach to wellbeing that harnesses your brain's innate ability to change and reorganize itself (known as neuroplasticity) and to adapt to sensory input from your body.

Throughout our lives, we develop all kinds of physical and mental habits. While many are useful, others are not. The particular way we sit, stand, walk, and connect with others (and ourselves) is a reflection of our inner state. Often, pain can be an indicator of harmful patterns.

I use the Feldenkrais Method to help you alter unhelpful habits through movement and focused attention. When you groove new patterns, you release old ones that no longer serve you.

For many people, the benefits include better motor skills, pain relief, and a greater sense of agency. Clients tell me the experience feels like "coming home." Powerful stuff.

Somatic Experiencing® (SE)

It sounds complicated. Put simply? Somatic Experiencing is a form of body-based therapy I use to help my clients heal from trauma and stress-related symptoms. SE helps to regulate the nervous system. Why is that important? Because when your nervous system is settled, you feel calm, clear, and more resilient. SE gets at the root cause of trauma symptoms, and for many people, the result is greater emotional capacity, pain relief, and increased vitality.

Co-Active® Life Coaching

In an action-oriented world, it’s easy to feel adrift or to lose sight of your journey. You may be asking yourself: What’s my purpose? What are the values that guide me to a fulfilled life? What’s in the way of a next step in my personal or professional life? I incorporate Co-Active Life Coaching in my practice because it helps to pinpoint your barriers and uncover the things beneath the surface that hold you back. Part creative process and part conversation, it challenges you to get out of your comfort zone and find the courage to be who you genuinely are so you can create what you truly desire.
