The Feldenkrais Method®

 
 

The Feldenkrais Method is an educational approach to improve the quality of your life. It teaches you in concrete ways how to develop and refine awareness for what you are doing. Movement is used in a unique and practical way as a means to examine current habits of moving, sensing, feeling and thinking. Since habits are often unconscious and automatic, awareness of our selves and curious attentiveness on movement explorations are the tools to access them. An important emphasis in the method is placed on acquiring numerous options for novel ways of moving. New neural connections in the brain are created and a refinement and expansion of the movement repertoire takes place. Habits that no longer serve you will be replaced by those that will provide you with a myriad of solutions. By learning how to access and use the capacity of the nervous system for reorganization, you will enhance your coordination, agility, balance and flexibility in addition to attaining a greater choice of movements and a higher level of performance.
